Lots of tar, smoke and blackberry with spices, stones and some bark. Notes of black truffle, sage, lavender and rosemary, too. Very complex. Full-bodied, yet very refined and polished with hot stone and some pine needle. Mushroom too. Merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, syrah and malbec. This is a little tight, but shows polish and beauty. Give it two or three years to come around. Better after 2023. ... More details

A polished red, with a lightly chalky frame of fine-grained tannins and a juicy range of creme de cassis, bay leaf, mocha and spice. Minerally and fragrant on the lingering finish. Elegant. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2029. 7,000 cases made, 1,000 cases imported.
Winery
An attractive, dark and deep garnet red, the wine has an intense and precise nose that opens on delicate aromas of spices, roses and plums macerated in spirits. Some roasted, toasted notes appear with airing. From a supple and highly refined attack, the mid-palate rapidly emerges on smooth, patrician tannins enhanced by a youthful freshness. The fruit, already there in the background, comes into its own, giving a harmonious, long and opulent finish.

Region: Languedoc Roussillon

The French region of Languedoc Roussillon can claim to be amongst one of the oldest continuing wine regions in the world, with a history which stretches back to the ancient Greeks almost three thousand years ago. Today, Languedoc Roussillon is recognized as a region associated with fine wines made from many of the noble grapes, and with over 700,000 acres under vine, is a veritable powerhouse of viticulture which has helped shape the world of wines as we know it. Languedoc Roussillon is situated in the very south of France, and enjoys a fine, hot, Mediterranean climate which allows the vines there to reach full ripeness and provide reliable yields each year. Languedoc Roussillon today produces over a third of France's wines, and the bottles which leave the wineries of the region remain popular across the globe.

Country: France

Year in, year out, France enjoys its prestigious reputation as the producer of the finest wines in the world. With a wine making history which spans several thousand years and owes its expertise to the Romans, it comes as little surprise that this most highly esteemed of the Old World wine countries continues to impress and enchant both novices and experts to this day. Despite the rise in quality of wines from neighboring European countries, not to mention the New World, the French wine industry continues to boom, with up to eight billion bottles being produced in recent years. However, France prides itself on always putting quality before quantity, and the wide range in fine produce is a testament to the dedication and knowledge of the wineries across the country. Indeed, from rich and complex reds to light and aromatic white wines, French wines are as varied and interesting as they are enjoyable to drink, making this country a firm favorite for wine lovers across the globe.
