A Bordeaux-style blend dominated by 55% cabernet franc, the wine has a pretty, floral aroma, inviting red fruit flavors and silky tannins, so it’s easy to sip even at a young age. Tastes nicely ripe, almost sweet, but not at all thick or cloying. Drink now or hold. ... More details

The 2021 Arise Proprietary Red can be thought of as the second wine of the estate and is based on 55% Cabernet Franc, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, and the rest Zinfandel. It's a ripe, medium to full-bodied, plush, satisfying, and easygoing 2021 offering plenty of darker fruits, some spicy, chocolaty oak, and a great finish. A good value, it will deliver the goods over the coming 7-8 years.

Blackbird's entry-level red is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Zinfandel. Marked by scents of black cherries, dried herbs and a hint of red berries on the nose, the 2021 Arise Proprietary Red is medium to full-bodied, supple and silky but not that deep or rich. Still, it offers ample pleasure, with a long, vibrant finish.

The 2021 Arise is plump, juicy and inviting —in other words, everything a second wine should be. Bright acids cut through a core red cherry/plum fruit, spice and blood orange. This is nicely done.
Winery
Harvested, vinified, and aged with an identical commitment to quality as our principal wines, this classic Napa blend comprised of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon expresses luscious flavors that can only come from exceptional fruit.

Overview
The 2021 Arise, a blend of 55% Cabernet Franc, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, and 4% Zinfandel, is deep garnet-purple in color. It sashays out with fragrant scents of kirsch, black raspberries, warm plums, and violets followed by hints of pencil lead and mossy tree bark. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers great intensity of red and black fruit flavors, framed by grainy tannins and zippy acidity, finishing long and perfumed.

Appellation: Napa Valley

When it comes to New World wines, and especially wines from the United States of America, Napa Valley is something of a standard bearer. Over its relatively short history, it has managed to transform itself from being a fairly insignificant region, to becoming one of the most important and highly regarding wine locations on earth. With an ideal climate for viticulture, blazing sunshine and a low level of rainfall, this valley is shielded on many sides by mountain ranges which help it maintain a consistent level of heat, light and moisture throughout the year. Today, Napa Valley is a home of innovation and quality, with dozens of grape varietals thriving in the fertile soils. However, the main varietals grown there have always been Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Zinfandel, and the wines they produce are constantly lauded by critics and competitions across the globe.
